Family Is Everything

Hi there!

I worked on this layout most of the day.  I had a hard time to get it the way I wanted... and I was unsure of how I really wanted to create my layout!  Grrrrr!
I hate "wasting" so much time on a layout!

So... this layout was submitted at Soul Scrappers for their Lift Challenge (LIFT10).  You can see the challenge here.

This is the layout to lift:

And here's my layout titled, "Family Is Everything."
This photo was taken several years ago... while we were at a restaurant a couple of hours away.  I love taking random photos!  All I say is, "Ok... I'm taking a picture!"  I don't give them much time either... and this is what I got!!  :)

Supplies used:
Paper: DCWV
Yarn, Twine, String
Chain
Cardboard Shapes
Cardstock Stickers: Deja Views
Glass Beads
Blue Beads
Sizzix Dies: Hearts, Leaves, Flowers, Fence, Keys
Corrugated Cardboard
Cuttlebug Embossing Folders
Various Color Mists
Distress Stains
Alcohol Inks
Embossing Powders

The keys were misted and embossed... and a chain was wrapped around them before adhering them onto the circle.

A closer look at the circle which was created using yarn, twine and string... which is hard to see because of all the hearts and flowers on top of it!
Each of the hearts were embossed and brushed with alcohol inks.

I decided to add the page title in the lower corner of my page.

The smaller flowers were misted with gold and then lightly misted with blue.  I used an embossing tool to press into each petal and in the center of the flowers to curl them up and give them more definition.  A blue bead was placed in their centers.

You can see some of the fibers used for the circle.  The fence was misted, inked and randomly sprinkled with embossing powder.  Glass beads were used for all the smaller flowers.
Another sticker was tucked under the heart which says, "Togetherness."  I clustered three different size flowers on the heart and added a bow at the top of the heart.

More leaves were tucked behind the fence.

The leaves were also dry embossed... misted and sprinkled with embossing powder and then a final coat of distress stain.

A closer look at the keys.

I hope you enjoyed my layout!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Beauty

Hi there,

Here's my final layout for today.
This was submitted at Soul Scrappers for the Random Word Challenge (RW2).  You can see the challenge here.

I used the word "Beauty" for my layout:
Lynn and Zoe on Christmas Day... both sporting fluffy Santa hats!  :)

Even though it's a Christmas photo... I used Valentine pp for a "love" theme and the word I chose from the list provided is "Beauty."

Supplies used:
Paper: Crate Paper
Border Punches
Chipboard Flourishes: K&Co.
Page Title: Studio g
Ribbon
Flowers
Glitter Gems: Home Made
Glass Beads
Sketch: Page Maps (Apr 2008)

Glass beads were scattered on each side of the photo... on the background paper.

Chipboard was tucked under the flower.

The chipboard page title was added in the lower portion of my page.

Ribbon was added along the punched border.  Under the flower is a chipboard flourish circle.

A look at the left side of my page.  Even though the glass beads were tricky to add onto my page... I love them!!

A closer look.

Typical

Hello!

Here's a fun layout that was submitted at Sketches 4 All for the February Sketch Challenge (sketchfeb).  You can see the challenge here.

The sketch:

And my layout titled, "Typical."
Dylan and I on Christmas Day.  So typical for him to make faces as I snap away!!  Eventually I do get one without his "faces" but these silly photos are so fun!

Supplies used:
Paper: DCWV
Various Stickers
Ribbon
Squares cut from pp

Lots of stickers layered here.  The square with an arrow was cut from pp.

I added a couple more stickers under the sub title which says, "Cutie Pie."

A small strip of ribbon was tucked under the page title and a bracket was placed beside the photo.

A closer look.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Good Times

Hello,

Here's a layout that was submitted at Sketches 4 All for Giorgia's February Challenge (giorgiafeb).  You can see the challenge here.  Simply use a Love theme and polka dots.

This is my "Good Times" layout:
Christmas Day with my daughter and her dog, Max.
I used Valentine pp and polka dots are on the background pp.

Supplies used:
Paper: Pebbles
EK Success Border Punch
Ribbon
Chipboard Embellies
Heart Epoxy Sticker
Sketch: Page Maps

An epoxy heart sticker was tucked just under the page title.

A punched border was added along the bottom and on a portion at the top of my page.
The brackets and butterfly are chipboard.

A cute little glittery and chipboard flower is in the upper corner.

Selfie Layout

Hi there,

Brrrrrr!  It's super cold out there today!  Didn't realize HOW cold until I let the dogs out... several times today!  Max loves it outside... unlike Zoe... who has to come right back in!!  Max is keeping Zoe active too!  And that's so good for her.

I've been working on some layouts.  I had four that I really wanted to work on and I'm happy to say that I got all four of them done!!  Yay!

My first layout was submitted at Sketches 4 All for Stacy's February Stash Challenge... which is to create a layout using a "selfie" photo.

Here's my layout:
This "selfie" photo was taken on one of my walks in the fields this past fall.

Supplies used:
Paper: The Paper Studio
Ribbon
Darice Embossing Folder
Bling & Glitter Gems: Home Made
Flowers/Leaves
Fabric Flowers: Home Made
Rick Rack
Sketch: Page Maps (Apr 2008)

I layered the flowers and added a glitter gem in the center.  LOTS and lots of bling on my page!  And the pink cardstock looked so plain so I embossed it along the bottom.

Several ribbons and rick rack are layered on the left of the photo... and two small flowers were placed near the bottom.

Another look at the flowers and bling.

The bottom portion of the pink cardstock was embossed.

Basketball

Hi there!

It's a beautiful sunny day... a little cold out... but still nice and bright!!  Love it!
There's nothing like sitting on the couch with my laptop, the music playing and the sun shining in!

I have a layout to share with you today that was submitted at Turtle Soup for their Project 12 January Sketch.
I don't create very many 2-page layouts... and this year long challenge encourages me to do just that!  I can't wait to see my album completed at the end of the year!

The January Sketch:
Image

And here's my layout titled, "Basketball."
I'm not crazy about basketball... but I went... just to see our grandson playing!  Not to brag or anything... but he's such an awesome player!  It's was so fun to watch him dribble and pass!

Supplies used:
Paper: DCWV, Colorbok
Ribbon
Sizzix Hand Die
Stickers
Gold Metallic Paint
Walnut Ink Mist

I used a large paintbrush to create the background.  Then I misted it.

In the lower corner over the ribbons and pp banner, I added this cute little hand!  I misted it with walnut ink and used a paper towel to brush it over the hand.

I used a cluster or stickers here.

In the upper right corner I added the same embellies.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I hope you will stop by Turtle Soup and check out not only this Project 12 year long challenge... but all the other fun challenges too!  There's a different challenge each day of the week... and we also have a fun mini crop around mid month.
