Shine

Hello everyone!

Here's the layout that I recently completed.
This was submitted at Soul Scrappers for their Lift Challenge (LIFT23).  You can see the challenge here and you have until Mar 13 to add your creation into the SS Gallery.

And here's my take on the lift.  My layout is titled, "Shine."
Here I am during one of our bike rides at the park in Nebraska.  The trails were absolutely wonderful... and flat... so you can ride for miles and miles!  This day I think we rode 18 miles!  :)

Paper: Studio Calico, Various Mists, Doilies, Prima Flowers & Bling, Home made gems (flower centers), Stickers.

Here's the layout to Lift:
Fun lift!  I liked the way the photo was cut on each side and the clusters!  :)

Now here's a closer look at my layout:
So fun to finally use the flowers and bling from my never ending stash!  :)
Each of the doilies were misted a different shade.

Another flower cluster.

Trying to get a better photo of the glitter mist.

A closer look at the clusters...

And this clear sticker (on the cut portion of my photo) pretty much sums me up:  "Original and one of a kind."

Also...
Have to share...
How much fun I had these past two days on the snowmobile trails!
Here's a little taste of all the beauty that surrounded us today:

Wow... what a difference looking at the photos above with all that snow... and then on the bike trail in the beautiful sunny weather!

Thanks so much for stopping by... and please stop by Soul Scrappers and check out all the fun challenges!

Treat Time

Hello there!

Another layout completed!  Woo hoo!

This one is for the Mark Your Calendar Challenge (MYC14) at Soul Scrappers.  You can see the challenge here.  If you have pets, you will want to check this out!  The challenge ends Mar 14th.

My creation titled, "Treat Time."
My dog, Zoe.  She's such a character!  I don't think she could tell that I could see her peeking over the couch!  What a funny dog!

Paper: gcd Studios, DCWV, Pearl Bling: Want 2 Scrap, Doilies, Stickers, Prima Flowers, Various Mists, Glitter Gems: Paper Studio.
Sketch: Page Maps

The border of dog bones was added below the photo.  The doily was cut in half and misted.

I added this cute collar tag just under the flower with Zoe's name on it.

The cream flowers were misted with a light pink.

Another sticker is above Zoe's head on the photo and the page title is an iridescent sticker.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  :)

Daddy

Hi there!
Thank goodness the wind has calmed down!
Wondering when we will ever get out of this deep freeze!  Ugh!

This layout was created for the Quote Challenge (QC45) at Soul Scrappers.  You can see the challenge here.  You have until Mar 9th to get your layout submitted.

I chose the quote: "Sometimes you have to be your own hero" and here's my layout titled, "Daddy."
This is my father.  Sadly, I have no idea what year this was taken.  I don't have very many photos of him, so I treasure the ones I do have.
He was an avid outdoorsman!  He loved hunting, fishing, snow sledding, bowling, was a superb carpenter and very creative too!  He loved life and enjoyed it to its fullest!
He was definitely my HERO!

Paper: Colorbok, DCWV, Chipboard, Twine, Stickers, Mist.
Sketch: Page Maps

The background was misted.  The twine was twisted and adhered under the tabs.  The journaling block and tiny tag are chipboard.

I cut the trees and larger circle from pp.

The tag was tucked behind the photo with a chipboard circle on it.
My page title is a clear sticker added right on the photo.

I do hope you will stop by Soul Scrappers and check out all the fun challenges!
See you there!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  :)

Happy Birthday

Hi!
Brrrr!  It sure is cold outside!  Will we ever get out of this deep freeze?  Ugh!

So while I'm hunkered down because it's too cold to be outside, I've been working on a couple layouts.

The first one was entered in the Use Up Scraps Challenge (UUS14) at Soul Scrappers.  You can see the challenge here.  Deadline for submissions is Feb 23.

Here's my layout titled, "Happy Birthday"
The challenge is to use at least 5 different pp and a minimum of 1-2 embellies.

Using the 5 pp was the easy part... using only 2 embellies was very hard for me!  I failed in this department!  Oh well, I tried!

This is my grandson on his 13th birthday.  He's trying to contain his excitement... but I can see it all over his face!  :)

Paper: Paper Studio, Mist, Border Punch, Washi Tape, Twine, Chipboard.
Sketch: Page Maps

The background pp was misted to give a little color to all the white.  I used different chipboard for my page title.

Twine was tied around the pp and the ends were twisted and adhered in place.

Washi tape was added along the right side of the photo with the #13 circled with a black marker.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Please check out all the challenges at Soul Scrappers!  :)

Photogenic

Hi there!

Here's a fun layout I completed last night for the Soul Scrappers Sketch Challenge (SC87). You can see the challenge here.

The sketch by Shazza:

And here's my layout titled "Photogenic"
My sister's cat, Bear.  He was so fun to take pics of.  My sister teased me all the time about taking more pics of their cats than anything else!  :)

Paper: American Crafts, Twine, Sizzix Swirl, Circle punch, Die cuts.

The title was added along the bottom rather than in the corner.  I kinda liked the star and camera in the lower left of the paper.

I clustered die cuts on one of the circles.

A closer look at the swirls that I tucked under the photo and banners.

Please join us in all the awesome challenges at Soul Scrappers!
Thanks for stopping by!

Hello!

Hi!  I'm back.... after a long hiatus!

A lot has happened... and I will not bore you with the details.
It sure feels good to get back into scrapbooking!

This layout was created for the Lift Challenge (LIFT22) at Soul Scrappers.  I had fun with all the layers!

This is the layout to lift.  You can view the challenge here.  The deadline for entries is Feb 13th.

And here's my layout titled "Ready to Ride"
This is my Zoe-dog ready to ride some more... even after 8 hours in the car with the first day stop in Connecticut.  The next day she was ready to go!!

Paper is Calico Studio; Sticker letters Basic Grey; Wood veneer arrows, heart, car & circle; Various mists; Prima flowers; Clear Dew Drops and the Glitter letters are from American Crafts.

I used a cute little punch for the banners.  Wasn't sure if I could punch the burlap paper, but it worked just fine.  Just had to put a little muscle into it!  :)

The wood veneer shapes were misted.  I used a pink mist for the heart to make it stand out a bit more and added a dew drop on it.

The flowers were also misted with more dew drops in their centers.  A couple of the squares were cut from burlap paper.

Found some stickers in my stash and added some doggie prints beside the photo.

I do hope you will join in on some of the fun challenges at Soul Scrappers.  There's such a variety of them... and sure to get you in the scrappy mood!  :)
