The Perfect Sky

Hello!

As I sit here trying to figure out what to type, I'm amazed at how far along my kitchen remodel has come!  All the cabinets are in and it looks amazing!  All the fine details are being worked on now.
I haven't had a stove for weeks.  Yup... that's right!  Cooking?  Hmmmmm... what's that?  Hee hee
It might take me awhile to get my cooking skills back into shape!
I am so excited to see my totally new kitchen, which has been long overdue!
And I actually FEEL like and, quite possibly, can't wait to start cooking again!  Whoa!  :)

And while all this stuff is going on... I have to clear off my new craft table and try to work on a few scrappy layouts.  Everything is everywhere... and it's so hard to locate one specific item, but I'm doing it... simply because I have no other choice!

This layout was completed before we got into the thick of the demolition.

It's a Song/Lyric Challenge (SLC47) at Soul Scrappers.  I hope you will stop by and check it out!

Here's the lyrics to the song called, "Torn" by Natalie Imbruglia.

I thought, I saw a man brought to life
He was warm, he came around and he was dignified
He showed me what it was to cry

Well, you couldn't be that man I adored
You don't seem to know
Seem to care what your heart is for
But I don't know him anymore

There's nothing where he used to lie
The conversation has run dry
That's what's going on
Nothing's fine, I'm torn

I'm all out of faith
This is how I feel
I'm cold and I am shamed
Lying naked on the floor

Illusion never changed
Into something real
I'm wide awake and I can see
The perfect sky is torn
You're a little late, I'm already torn

So I guess the fortune teller's right
Should have seen just what was there
And not some holy light

It crawled beneath my veins
And now I don't care, I had no luck
I don't miss it all that much
There's just so many things
That I can touch, I'm torn

I'm all out of faith
This is how I feel
I'm cold and I am shamed
Lying naked on the floor

Illusion never changed
Into something real
I'm wide awake and I can see
The perfect sky is torn
You're a little late, I'm already torn, torn

There's nothing where he used to lie
My inspiration has run dry
That's what's going on
Nothing's right, I'm torn

I'm all out of faith
This is how I feel
I'm cold and I am shamed
Lying naked on this floor

Illusion never changed
Into something real
I'm wide awake and I can see
The perfect sky is torn

I'm all out of faith
This is how I feel
I'm cold and I'm ashamed
Bound and broken on the floor
You're a little late, I'm already torn, torn

It's called "The Perfect Sky," the words I've chosen from the lyrics.
There was always an amazing skyline in Nebraska... I never tired of seeing the beautiful colors!
This sky was seen during a walk in the park with my sister one evening.

Paper: gcd Studios, Prima Flowers & other flowers, Glitter Gems, Ice Stickles, Arrows Die: Tim Holtz, Mists, Sticker Letters: Kaiser Craft.
Sketch: Page Maps

Using the Tim Holtz arrows die I layered various arrows along the left side of the pp.
Then added different size flowers.

The background pp were misted.  I tapped the layout on my craft desk to make the larger mist splatters fun down the page.  I left the stickers within the center of some letters.

A closer look at the flower clusters.  Home made glitter gems were used for the larger flowers.

Stickles was used for the smaller flower centers.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  :)

Merry Christmas

Hello!

Well, I think Fall is here!  We skipped summer all together!
But I'm STILL waiting for the warmer weather... it's out there somewhere!

So... with all the construction going on at my house... I'm pretty much stuck in one room or another.
And so it goes with a remodel...
It will be all worth it in the end... so everyone keeps telling me.  But I have mixed feelings about it... thinking of all the cleaning I will have to do... from ceilings to floors in every room!  Ugh!

Anyhow... here's a layout that was completed for the "Cooking Up Creations" challenge (CUCC43) at Soul Scrappers.

The challenge is to use the following:
- At least 2 photos
- 1 Christmas tree image
- 1 Frame
- At least 4 different pp (Christmas themed)
- Glitter

"Merry Christmas"
Zoe and I... Christmas at my sisters.  Zoe puts up with a lot from me...
Doesn't she look so cute with those reindeer antlers on?  Hee hee

Paper: Paper Studio, 3D Embellies, Flowers, Sticker Title, Glitter Gems.
Sketch: Page Maps

The page title is a clear sticker... with an added 3D snowflake embellie beside it.  Both photos were matted on a frame.

3D tree embellie.

Glitter gems were added in the flower centers.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  :)

Good Times

Hello!

The rains have finally stopped.... for now.
And I must say...

"Dear Sun,
You have been away too long.
I almost forgot what you looked like!"

Here's my layout for today, which was submitted at Soul Scrappers for their Tic Tac Toe Challenge (TTT6).

"Good Times"
Another pic of my sister and I having some dinner at a nearby restaurant.
Going out to eat = Always fun!  :)

Paper: Pink Paislee, Circle Punch, Doily, Gems, Cardstock Buttons, Twine, Pop Dots, Clear Sticker, Arrow Die Cut.
Sketch: Page Maps

This is the Tic Tac Toe board:

I chose the row: Doily, Die Cut, Pastel Colors.

A circle was added as the center of the doily and twine was tied through the buttons.

My die cut is the arrow, adhered with pop dots for dimension, and gems were scattered throughout the page.

Enjoy Life

Hi!

Another layout to share today.
This one is MY Challenge!

I am hosting the Sketch Challenge (SC91) at Soul Scrappers.  Be sure to stop by and check it out.

For this month, I chose a sketch that I found on Pinterest (gotta love Pinterest)... at Scrapbook.com (Beggahuna's Gallery).  I fell in love with this sketch.. all the layers and the large half circle.  (Scroll down to see this awesome sketch).

But first, here's my layout titled, "Enjoy Life."
This is my sister and I dressed up as Pirates for Halloween 2014.  Man, did we have a fun time!

Paper: Paper Studio, Bling: Recollections, Flowers/Leaves, Stickers, Ribbon, Gems, Tiny Flowers: Paper Studio

This is the awesome sketch:

Glittery letters...

I added a pop of blue to match my page title.  A sheer flower was layered over that.  Tiny flowers are scattered around the larger flowers.

Swirly bling is behind the flowers.  The flower centers are home made.

Leaves were tucked behind the large flower.

A closer look...

Thanks for stopping by!  :)

Favorite Teams

Hello!

Here's another fun challenge at Soul Scrappers.  An ABC Challenge (ABC6).  Each month a new letter of the alphabet will be presented with a "twist" in the challenge too.

This month is the letter "F" and the embellishment is "flair buttons."

This is my layout titled, "Favorite Teams."
This is my sister and I on Christmas morning sporting our favorite teams jackets.  Everyone knows by now that we like different football teams!  So fun!  :)

Paper: Dena Designs, Twine, Banner Punches, Ribbon, Flair Button, Tag, Stickers, Thickers: Dear Lizzy, Mists.
Sketch: Page Maps

I don't use them very much, but these Thickers letters are so fun!
A banner was added above the page title.

Another banner was placed below the page title.
The background was misted.

A cluster of embellies below the photo...tag, stickers, ribbon and a flair button.  The date was written on one of the stickers.

Another cool sticker arrow is on the left of the photo.

A closer look.

Thanks for stopping by!  :)
