Beautiful

Hi everyone!

We are almost in April and it's snowing like it was the beginning of winter!  Ugh!
I'm so ready for summer... the sun, warm weather and weekends with no rain!
Guess I have to wait another month or more before that reality happens.

In the meantime, here's a challenge that I'm hosting at Soul Scrappers.  It's the One Word Challenge and it runs for a month, so you have plenty of time to join in.  Head on over to Soul Scrappers to check it out.

The word I've chosen is:

BEAUTY
or similar words, such as "beauties" or "beautiful."

All you have to do is create a layout, card or other project based on the above word.  What do you think of when you see or hear the word beautiful or beauty?
And, you don't have to use the actual word on your project, but you can, of course.  Just create what you interpret with the word.

Here's what I created using the word "Beautiful" as my page title.
This is my niece (in the middle), with her friend and myself, in Florida last summer.  We were heading out to South Beach.  Absolutely love the weather... and the beach!!

A cluster of flowers with pearl centers.  Tiny rub on words surround them.

Another cluster of flowers on the left of my photo.  I decided to keep the flowers their original color and concentrate on misting the background for added color.

A closer look at my misted background and page title which is across the top of the photo.

Rub on words were scattered around the flowers to emphasize the word meaning of the word beautiful.

Lots of different pp layers with another rub on above the flowers.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my layout.

Live Like This Forever

Hello everyone!

A beautiful day to you all!  It's the weekend!  Hope you're all enjoying it.

Another layout to share with you created for Soul Scrappers.  The challenge is the Song and Lyric Challenge.  The challenge runs until Apr 24th.  A song is chosen with the lyrics uploaded and all you have to do is choose words, paragraphs, page title, etc. from the lyrics for your page title.
You can see all the info here

My layout is titled, "Live Like This Forever" using words from the lyrics provided.
Here I am standing in front of the Miami Beach sign.  The weather was gorgeous there... and I didn't want to leave!

The sub title is to the left of my photo.
This cluster above the title is cheesecloth, paper leaves, flowers and wood shapes.
Everything was brushed with a metallic pastel watercolors, which gave it all a wonderful shimmer.

Wood diamond shapes are above the photo.  Lots of Gesso and mists were used.
A tag was tucked behind the photo with a tiny strip of trim through the top of it.

The lines were created using cardstock dipped in Gesso.
I used Gesso watered down for the background before doing anything else.  It was colored by spraying mists on it.

Another cluster of flowers below the photo with some wooden shapes tucked here and there.

A closer look.
Flower trim was added below the flower cluster.

And another flower cluster beside the photo with a quote saying, "This is me."
Cheesecloth was added behind the flowers and a wooden heart was colored with watercolors above it.

More decorative trim is above my page title.

And finally a few more close ups above.

Thanks so much for stopping by... and I hope you enjoyed my layout!

Beautiful Dolphin

Hello everyone!

Another layout to share with you for a challenge at Soul Scrappers.  It's called the Random Word Challenge.  It runs until Apr 22nd.  You can see all the info here.  If you're unable to be directed by the link, simply become a member.  It's easy, and best of all it's free and so totally fun!  Lots of challenges for a variety of tastes!  :)

So, for this challenge, a letter of the alphabet is chosen along with several words that begin with that letter... and simply create your project based on a word you decide to choose.

Easy peasy!

This is my layout titled, "Beautiful."
I snapped this photo of a dolphin coming out of the water from my phone.  Still can't believe it came out this good!
It was a beautiful day to see all the shows with a variety of animals.  So interesting and entertaining.

Twine was wrapped around the pp and tied in a bow.

I added misting on all the layers.

Of course, bling was added over everything and brushed with watered down Gesso.

I used a couple different stencils on the background... and really liked the effect of this "burst" from behind the photo!

The letters were brushed with Gesso to tone down the pink.

The flowers were brushed with Gesso and Gesso misted with a light color.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

ICE!

Hi there!

Brrrrrr!  It's freezing out!
After a couple days of beautiful weather, this cold is too much!
Will Spring ever get here?

Anyhow, I have a layout to share that was created for Soul Scrappers and their Lift Challenge.  I love lift challenges... they take the "thinking" out of layouts... all you have to do is choose the papers!

My layout is titled, "ICE!"
I took these photos a couple years ago after an ice storm.  I was amazed at how it all looked up close.  And yes, these were taken with my phone!  :)

I added some arrows pointing towards the subtitle.

Words were added here and there to emphasize the photos.

Found these glittery chipboard letters in my stash... the perfect color!  :)

Ribbon was layered on the tag, stapled with twine tied in a bow around it.

The stick pins are my creations.

The stick pins were tucked behind the wide ribbon.

And now...

Escape to Nature

Hello everyone!

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend.  :)

Guess what?  Soul Scrappers has another awesome challenge that just went live today and will run until April 18th.  Example photos are posted at the challenge site to inspire you, along with a couple of quotes... or you can choose your own.  You can see all the info here.

It's called Escape to Nature, challenging you to scrap those outdoor photos!  I know I have lots of them to scrap.

For this one, the theme is "Trails or Walking Paths."

Here is the layout I've created titled, "Loveliness."
This is the path we walked along in Paris, close to where we were staying.  It was so beautiful and peaceful here... we took our time checking it all out and enjoying the views.

The two left flowers I created... then misted them and added some color on the edges.

I forget about this banner punch that gets lost in my stash.  Thought it was perfect for my page.

Bling and flowers cluster in the upper right of my photo... with the page title below that.

A closer look.

This is the quote I chose.

A couple butterflies adds dimension.

Bicycle Card

Hello!

Do you love making cards?

Well, there's a great Card Challenge at Soul Scrappers... going on right now... and runs until Apr 14th.  You can see all the info here.

Each month a new theme is posted which will make you think off the page to create something spectacular.  Or just have fun trying something new!  :)

This time around the theme is:

ADD A BICYCLE

Easy peasy right?

This is my "Happy Birthday" card:
Had fun distressing this card and adding all sorts of layers.

I made these cute flowers... just misted them a bit.

Sheer ribbon was tied in a bow below the bicycle.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I hope you will check out all the fun challenges at Soul Scrappers.  Come on and join us!  It's a wonderful group of people.
