Party Favors!!!

Hello!

Here's a fun project to try, which is posted at Turtle Soup.  You can see the challenge here.  And be sure to check out all the other cool challenges too!  There's such a wide variety.. something is sure to entice you to play along!

I had the privilege of hosting the Saturday All Sorts (4/5).  And I decided to showcase the Party Favors that I made for a variety of occasions.

Beware... there are LOTS of photos.  I couldn't decide which ones... so I added "most" of them!  Enjoy!  :)
These are made using toilet paper rolls!  I knew I was saving these for a reason!
I started by wrapping the tube with cardstock... then adhered tissue paper over it.  This creates a cool, muted effect with the pp.  Then added the embellies and tied the ends with ribbon.

Cardstock was wrapped around the center of the tube and then embellies were added.  Rather than tie a bow on each end... I scrunched the tissue paper and gently tucked them in the tube.

3D Easter eggs were added on this one and thin ribbon tied into a bow on each end.

This one can be for "any" occasion.  Tiny strips of ribbon was adhered on each end.  A punched border was added in the center of the tube before adding the punched shapes and cute 3D butterfly.

These cute boxes were made using a stamp.  Yup... This was an awesome find at a craft sale.  Didn't think I would ever use it... but I love it!  Simply stamp, cut and adhere the edges... then decorate!

I found this cute take out box template online!  I love it!
I used double sided papers so the inside is cute too!  Tiny holes were punched on each side and I knotted twine through them and added a different color twine into a bow too.

And these were also made with toilet paper rolls.  So fun!
I had a blast making these!  Don't know if I will ever use them... yeah... maybe I will this year!  :)

Simply cover with cardstock or pp (whichever you choose) and adhere one end together.
All kinds of goodies get put inside and the tops are supposed to be adhered closed... but I left them open for now.

You can see the open side better in this photo.
I wanted to "hide" the top edges, so I hand cut the "grass" and added it along the tops of each one.

They're all for Easter... ready to fill with candies or tiny gifts.

I stood them all up so you could see how they look.

And here they are all grouped together.  Some of the party favors are for birthdays, any occasion and most of them are for Easter, which is just around the corner!

I hope you enjoyed my Party Favors!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

You have LOTS of time to play along!  Come on, you know you want to!

All you have to do is complete 3 of the challenges being offered for this event... to have a chance to win a prize.  Check is out...

You can find my challenge here.
And... you can find ALL the CURRENT Challenges at Sketches 4 All here.

I decided to make TWO cards... one for Spring and one for Easter.
Hopefully these cards will entice you to play along!
A square card gives me more room to play around with!  Loved adding the bling and a cute cluster of flowers.  Papers are DCWV and the sketch is Page Maps (Sept 2009).

A closer look at the flowers.  The glitter gems in the yellow flower centers are home made.

Found this lovely quote in my stash... perfect for Spring!  :)

New pp from Authentique... as well as the cute die cuts!  So perfect for Easter!  I added  a punched border with ribbon covering where the two papers meet.  All the edges were distressed and the banner was adhered with pop dots for some dimension.  Sketch is Page Maps (Dec 2011).

A closer look...

Hope you enjoyed my cards and will stop by Sketches 4 All and check out all the fun!

Swallows Layout

Hello!

It's a dreary, rainy day today.  Blah!  A perfect day to craft!

Here's a layout that was submitted at Soul Scrappers for their Sketch Challenge (SC76).  You can see all the info here.

The lovely sketch:

And here's my layout using the above sketch, haphazard paint and a flourish:
I can't believe how close these cuties let me get to them... even though I can clearly see that they're not too happy about it either!  Sometimes they "hold their ground" watching my every move... and sometimes they start diving close to me.  But when they realize that I'm not going to harm them... they seem ok after a bit.

Supplies used:
Paper: gcd Studios
Paint
Rosettes: Hand Made
Marker
Bling: Home Made

Here's the trio of flowers created with satin fabric, seam binding ribbon and decorative ribbon.

Here's a better look at my journaling.

More bling!

Lots of flourishes (bling) was added above and along one side of the photo.

Paint was brushed horizontally and vertically and then splattered on the background.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

The Little Things Mean A Lot

Hi everyone!

Hope you are all enjoying your Sunday!

I've been working on a project that I've had swirling around in my head for some time now.  I desperately needed a stamp pad holder... and I didn't want to buy one.
So... that's what I worked on today!  Yup... it took me just about the whole day to complete!  But... all my stamp pads are in there and it looks pretty cool.  I still have to figure how to go about giving it some color.  I didn't want to paint it... because I thought that it would cause it to bubble!  I made it using recycled cereal boxes!
And... sorry... but I can't share it just yet.
First... I need to figure out how to "paint" it... maybe spray paint?
Second... I may use it for a tutorial on one of my fave sites!

But I do have a layout completed that I can share with you today!  Yay!
This was entered at Turtle Soup for their Project 12 Sketch Challenge for March.  You can see the challenge here.  You have all month to submit your entry.

I'm so excited about this year-long project!  I will have an awesome album at the end of the year!  Woo hoo!

Ok... here is my layout titled, "The Little Things Mean A Lot."
This was my Boy Scouts going away party!
After 6+ years... it was time for a change.  And... at the time, hubby was ill... and I couldn't devote the time needed for Boy Scouts... and going away on overnight camping trips, Boy Scout Camp and even day long events and what not, just wasn't fitting in anymore... as being with hubby was more important.
But it's ok... It was a change that I welcomed!  Yes, I miss some of the events... but... there are other events that I do not miss.  So... I think it all balances out.

Supplies used:
Paper: gcd Studios, Colorbok
Hexagon Punches
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
Chipboard Shapes: Studio g
Various Stickers
Clear Sticker Quote

This lovely quote was added below the photos on the left side of my page.

Below the photos I added a couple of chipboard shapes.

Another chipboard shape is in the far right of my page.  I cut a scalloped border to add below the solid strip of paper.

Malcolm has always loved to whittle with wood.  I was amazed at every one of his projects!
And... I was pleasantly surprised with he whittled a spoon for me!  It's SO cool and perfect for a large pot of soup!  :)

And the photo on the right page... is what Jack made for me!  If you haven't guessed... it's a walking stick... complete with my name carved into the wood!  I know.. it's huge and heavy... but it's the thought that counts!  And I will always keep it!  :)

Since I always had to include a "goofy" photo with every event... it was only fitting that this group photo would be a fun "goofy" photo!  Almost all the boys made some faces...

Rather than splatter ink spots on my page... I decided to just add the hexagons.  Besides... I needed to try my new punches!  :)

Airin made origami scout shirts for me.  He was always making cool things with origami... so I wasn't surprised when he made these shirts... one was mine... and the other was his... so I would remember him.  :)

The page title is a bubble sentiment.  This is exactly how I felt.

During my time working with these boys, challenging them, encouraging them, teaching them and helping them with various projects... they learned thoughtfulness!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you enjoyed my layout!
